LANDR Distribution for music producers

LANDR Distribution sends releases to streaming services and social platforms on a yearly plan or a LANDR Studio subscription. Here is what matters for a producer who also licenses music, as of October 2026.

In short. LANDR Distribution delivers releases to stores, streaming services and social platforms. It says it pays your royalties without taking a percentage, except 20% of Content ID money. Content ID is decided per release: one ineligible track makes the whole release ineligible. Meta also refuses production library and stock music. AI-assisted music is accepted with a monthly cap, but not for Content ID, Meta or TikTok. LANDR can't whitelist a channel. It asks YouTube to remove claims one video at a time.

How to join

Anyone can sign up. When checked on 26 October 2026, LANDR's help listed Distribution Basic at $24 a year and Distribution Pro at $45 a year. Unlimited distribution is also part of every LANDR Studio plan, from $8.25 a month.

LANDR's guidelines refuse some kinds of releases outright. Among them: nature sounds and meditation music, and "SEO-Driven Content" such as "type-beats" or "jam tracks".

Exclusive or not

You keep 100% ownership of your recordings. You can use LANDR and another distributor, but not for the same release on the same platforms. LANDR notes that some artists use one distributor for stores only, without Content ID, and another for social media.

AI-generated music

LANDR "accepts music created with the assistance of AI tools". Its guidelines refuse "Music that relies entirely on AI audio generation". The rules:

  • You must say during upload if the release has AI-generated elements.
  • A monthly cap on AI-generated tracks per account: 20 on Distribution Basic, 60 on Distribution Pro. LANDR uses detection technology.
  • No AI-generated cover songs.
  • YouTube Content ID, Meta, TikTok, Deezer, Lissen, Pandora and Tencent don't take AI-generated music, so it doesn't go there.

Codes, Content ID and royalties

ISRC and UPC. Both are free and automatic. You can enter your own ISRC. You can't enter your own UPC: a new one is made for every release, even when you move a catalog to LANDR. LANDR says each version of a song, for example a radio edit or a remix, gets its own ISRC.

Content ID. You need a Distribution or LANDR Studio subscription. Pick "YouTube Content ID" in step 4 of a new release. LANDR's team checks it. Rules include:

  • Created by or exclusively owned by you. No "non-exclusive third-party elements", such as loops from sample libraries or stock DAW sounds.
  • Under 10 minutes per track.
  • No AI-generated or assisted music.
  • Eligibility is per release. "Either all tracks in the release are eligible for monetization, or none of them are."

For Meta, LANDR adds one more restriction: "Production Library or Stock Music". It means "royalty-free music, soundbeds, incidental scores, and loops commonly used in user-generated content".

Claims. Claims on YouTube appear from FUGA, LANDR's rights partner. "YouTube doesn't allow whitelisting entire channels". LANDR can ask for single claims to be removed. Send the video links and the ISRCs through its contact form. When a video owner disputes a claim, LANDR asks you to keep or release it.

Repeated ineligible submissions can lead to "permanent suspension of your profile across these services". See YouTube Content ID.

How you are paid

LANDR collects recording royalties and "pays those royalties to you without taking a percentage of your revenue". The exception is Content ID: "LANDR collects a 20% commission from royalties collected through Content ID (regardless of your subscription plan)". Songwriter royalties are not part of it. For those, you register with a PRO.

What to keep in your catalog

  • The ISRC of each track and version, and the UPC of each release. A move to LANDR gives every release a new UPC.
  • Content ID on or off per release. It is all or nothing for a release, so keep stock tracks on releases of their own.
  • Each claim removal you asked for, with the video link and the ISRC you sent.
  • Which tracks you marked as having AI elements, and in which month, because of the monthly cap.
