Airbit for producers

Airbit is a beat store and marketplace where producers lease beats and sell exclusives. It also runs a Content ID program for its Platinum members. Here is how it works, as of October 2026.

In short. Airbit has two kinds of license: Exclusive and Non-Exclusive. Every license except the one named Exclusive is a lease, "Unlimited" included. An exclusive sale in an Airbit store removes the beat there, but earlier leases stay valid and other stores are your job. Airbit's Content ID program is for Platinum members and keeps 20%. It does not take stock music, royalty-free music, loops or music made with AI.

How to join

Anyone can open an account. A new account comes with one default Non-Exclusive license and one default Exclusive. Custom licenses need a paid plan. Airbit's help says the discounted Platinum price of $7.99 a month needs yearly billing. Check the subscription page for the current price.

You may sell the same beats on other platforms "without restriction". Airbit adds: "remember to remove the beat from all platforms if you sell the exclusive license".

Exclusive or not

You choose per beat. Airbit's rule is simple: "There are only really two different types of licenses - Exclusive & Non-Exclusive." Producers can't rename the Exclusive license. "All other licenses, regardless of their name, are Non-Exclusive (this includes Unlimited)." Examples are Basic, Basic Wav, Premium, Premium Trackout and Unlimited. Each has its own limits on streams, copies and so on.

After an exclusive sale. If the exclusive is bought in an Airbit store, the beat is removed there automatically. Airbit warns that "Other platforms may not do this". "Anyone who has leased the beat before you buy the exclusive can still use it within the terms of their license." See Beat lease vs exclusive.

AI-generated music

We found no Airbit rule about selling beats made with AI in its stores. For its Content ID program, the answer is no: "Music created using Artificial Intelligence" is on the list of content not allowed.

Codes, Content ID and royalties

Who can join. Content ID is "available to Platinum members only". You apply, and Airbit answers within 7 working days. Only individuals can apply, not groups or labels.

What qualifies. "You must own 100% of the music you are submitting." Not allowed:

  • samples and loops, unless edited until they can't be recognized;
  • stock music and royalty-free music;
  • full songs with vocals;
  • music you bought a license for, or downloaded for free;
  • music made in generator apps or with AI.

Loops from your sound kits can't go in either. Ineligible beats are removed from Content ID "without warning". They stay in your store.

One company only. You can't monetize through Airbit and another company at the same time. Two submissions "will cause conflicts on YouTube".

After an exclusive sale. "If you've sold those exclusive rights, you cannot then submit the beat for monetization." If it is already in, email Airbit support to take it out.

Claims. Send Airbit your channel link and it whitelists your own channel. To release a buyer's claim, open Dashboard, then Monetization, YouTube Content ID, Claims, and click Remove Claim. "Once you have released the claim you cannot reinstate it." Deleting a beat stops future claims "but will not release existing ones".

Airbit recommends putting your Content ID policy in your license, for example: "This beat is registered for Content ID and a claim may be placed on your video. To remove this, dispute the claim and quote your order number."

How you are paid

"You keep 80% of all earnings made through our YouTube Content ID system." Marketplace sales "are no longer subject to a commission". You receive the full sale, as in your own store.

What to keep in your catalog

  • Each sale: the beat, the buyer, the license name, the date and its limits. Note that every license except Exclusive is a lease.
  • Every store and site where each beat is listed. After an exclusive sale, Airbit removes it only from its own store.
  • Which beats are in Airbit's Content ID, and since when. Not in any other company's Content ID at the same time.
  • Each claim you released, with the order number. It can't be undone.
  • The date of an exclusive sale, and the request to take that beat out of Content ID.
