In short. Artlist is a subscription library for video creators. As of October 2026, it is not taking new music artists. Its music catalog is made by human composers. Artlist registers every track in YouTube Content ID itself, and its artists may register their music with their own PRO. Artlist does not publish its deal terms for music artists.

How to join

When checked on 26 October 2026, the artist application page said: "We're not accepting new artist applications right now, but check back soon for updates."

The help center says the same: "Artlist is currently not accepting submissions for the music catalog." Artlist still takes applications from filmmakers, template artists and sound effects designers.

Exclusive or not

Artlist's public pages do not state its terms for music artists. They say nothing about a fee, a split or exclusivity. Read the agreement closely if Artlist opens again. The questions to ask: Exclusive or non-exclusive.

AI-generated music

The help center, updated on 12 October 2026, says: "All music and SFX in the Artlist catalog is created by human composers and artists. We do not use AI-generated music in our catalog."

Artlist also sells AI tools to its customers, including a music generator. A customer writes a prompt and downloads the generated track. The help page above keeps these apart from the music catalog.

Files and metadata

Buyers can filter the catalog for vocals, instrumentals, length, BPM and tracks with stems. Many tracks come with stems, such as drums, bass and vocals, as separate files.

Codes, Content ID and royalties

  • Content ID. Artlist says: "When music is added to the Artlist library, it is also registered with this CID system." Buyers add their channels to Artlist's Clearlist, and YouTube then does not claim their videos. Keep this in mind before you opt the same track into Content ID anywhere else. See YouTube Content ID.
  • Who the claim names. Artlist's help page names two claimants for its music: "Artlist Ltd" and "Artlist Ltd (Music Publishing)".
  • PROs. Artlist says: "At Artlist, our artists are free to register their music with external PROs." The registration does not change the buyer's license. See Registering library music with your PRO.

What to keep in your catalog

  • Which tracks are on Artlist, and the date each went in.
  • A note that Artlist registered them in Content ID itself.
  • Your PRO registration for each track. If you have more than one IPI name number, for example one for your legal name and one for a stage name, note which one you gave Artlist.
  • The terms of your agreement, since they are not on Artlist's public pages.
