Soundstripe for music producers

Soundstripe is a subscription music library for video creators. It takes only music made for it. Here is how its artist rules work, as of October 2026.

In short. Soundstripe is a subscription library. As of October 2026, it is not accepting submissions. When it opens, it takes only music written for it, and that music is sold to Soundstripe as "works made for hire". You must be independent and have a PRO writer affiliation. A track you already released, or sent to another site, cannot go there.

How to join

When checked on 26 October 2026, the artist page said: "We are currently not accepting submissions."

The same page lists what Soundstripe asks of artists:

  • "Must be fully independent (not signed to a publishing agreement or label agreement)."
  • "Must have a writer affiliation with a Performing Rights Organization."
  • Compositions and recordings "must be exclusively custom created for Soundstripe during our engagement."

It asks you to fill out the application "only if you are willing and able to meet these requirements."

Exclusive or not

Yes, and fully. The page says music made for Soundstripe "will be transferred and sold as 'works made for hire' as defined by the United States Copyright Act."

It also says: "We cannot accept previously distributed material or material signed to previous agreements of any kind." So a track already on streaming services, on a stock site or with a library does not qualify. The page does not say how artists are paid.

For the difference between the kinds of deal, see Exclusive or non-exclusive.

AI-generated music

Soundstripe says: "We do not use AI to generate any of the music in our library." It adds that "all music is human-created and all curation decisions are verified by our team." Its terms of use also forbid using Soundstripe content to train AI.

Codes, Content ID and royalties

  • PRO. A writer affiliation with a PRO is a requirement to apply. The page does not say who registers the publisher share. See Registering library music with your PRO.
  • Content ID. Subscribers list their YouTube channels in their Soundstripe account. Soundstripe then releases claims on those channels "related to Soundstripe music". Personal plans can list one channel, Pro plans up to five. Soundstripe's pages do not say who registers the tracks.

What to keep in your catalog

  • Which tracks you wrote for Soundstripe, and the date. Keep them apart from your released music from the first draft, since they cannot have been distributed before.
  • That each one was sold as a work made for hire. It stays off every other site.
  • Your PRO and IPI number, since the application asks for a writer affiliation.
  • The date you applied and the answer, once submissions reopen.
