Identifyy for music producers
Identifyy is a Content ID service owned by HAAWK. It registers your recordings on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram and collects money from videos that use them. Here is how it works, as of October 2026.

In short. Identifyy is a self-service Content ID company "owned and operated by HAAWK, Inc". Signing up is free, and it keeps 30% of what your tracks earn. You must be the exclusive copyright holder. Its terms give it the sole right to administer your tracks for three years at a time, and you can take a track out only if you lose or sell the rights to it. On Envato, automatic claim clearing works only with music registered through Identifyy.
How to join
"Identifyy is free to join." The steps on its home page:
- Sign up and upload your music.
- Check your metadata, submit your recordings and fill in the onboarding questionnaire.
- Once you are approved, Identifyy finds, claims and earns from the videos.
Envato's guide to Identifyy adds: "Identifyy cannot approve your application without the questionnaire." Identifyy says "The admin team generally approves tracks within a week." Members who have been with it for over 12 months without reaching a revenue threshold may be stopped from uploading more.
Exclusive or not
Both ways.
What you need. "You must be the exclusive copyright holder". Not eligible, from the FAQ:
- "Content licensed non-exclusively from a third party"
- "purchased beats, royalty-free music, or the like"
- Sound effects, sound beds, production loops and production beats
- Tracks with "open or unlicensed samples"
- Music under Creative Commons or similar free licenses
Two stock sites, Envato and Motion Array, accept tracks registered with Identifyy.
What you give. The terms on the site, effective 2 July 2019 when checked on 26 October 2026, give Identifyy "the sole and exclusive right during the Term and in the Territory to administer, collect" on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. The territory is worldwide unless you set otherwise when you submit.
- The term is three years from the day you register the account. It renews by itself for three more years each time.
- To leave, you send written notice between 120 and 60 days before the term ends.
- Removing a track is allowed "solely in the event that you lose, sell, or transfer your rights" to it, with papers Identifyy accepts.
So check every deal a track has before you upload it.
AI-generated music
When checked on 26 October 2026, Identifyy's FAQ and terms did not mention AI-made music. Ask support before you upload an AI track. Rules elsewhere: Can you sell AI music?
Files and metadata
- ISRC. "Including ISRC's is not mandatory". Identifyy says ISRCs are "highly encouraged" for fuller reports.
- Envato's instructions for its sellers: upload all your Envato tracks, alt versions only if they are also on Envato, and tracks "between 30 seconds and 10 minutes".
Codes, Content ID and royalties
- Where it claims. YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. Facebook and Instagram are generally only for clients who also use YouTube.
- Your own channel. Identifyy will allowlist your official YouTube channel "so long as your YouTube channel is directly partnered with YouTube".
- Envato Claim Clear. "Currently, Claim Clear can be used for music registered with HAAWK (via Identifyy)." Buyers then clear claims on their own, and your items get a "Claim Clear-ready" badge and a search filter. On each item you set "YouTube Content ID Registered" to Yes and "Administered By" to HAAWK.
- Switching. Envato warns: "If you're switching providers, be sure to de-register your music with the previous Content ID provider to avoid claim conflicts."
How you are paid
- Split. "We pay you 70% of the revenue we collect."
- Threshold. "A threshold of $100 needs to be met before payouts commence."
- Methods. Bank transfer, PayPal, Payoneer or Wise.
- Timing. Quarterly. For example, money earned from 1 January to 31 March is paid by 31 July.
What to keep in your catalog
- The date you opened the account. The three-year term counts from it, and notice is due 60 to 120 days before it ends.
- Which tracks and versions you uploaded, and whether each was approved.
- The title each track is registered under. Motion Array asks for it.
- The Content ID fields on each stock site, such as Envato's "Administered By: HAAWK".
- Any exclusive deal a track has or may get. Once a track is in, it stays unless you lose the rights.
