In short. Songtradr has moved away from Songtradr Marketplace. Licensing deals tied to the marketplace ended on 30 September 2026. New placements are invite-only, through MassiveMusic, Songtradr's licensing branch. Old accounts moved to MassiveMusic for Rightsholders, a paid distribution service. Unreleased audio files did not move with them.

How to join

There is no open sign-up for licensing now. Songtradr's help center, updated on 30 September 2026, says: "We're shifting licensing to be invite-only." The first round of invites has gone out. If your music is picked later, Songtradr says it will reach out. You then sign a Master Services Agreement.

MassiveMusic is "the licensing branch of Songtradr, Inc." Songtradr says it is moving to "a more curated, high-touch licensing model run by our global creative agencies."

If you already had a Songtradr account:

  • Licensing deals. "Any monetization deals tied to Songtradr Marketplace have ended as of September 30, 2026."
  • Releases. Songtradr moved all releases and their metadata to MassiveMusic for Rightsholders. They stay live on streaming services.
  • What did not move. "Unreleased audio files" and profile details from the old dashboard were not migrated.
  • Money. The account balance, payment details and tax information moved to the new dashboard.

MassiveMusic for Rightsholders "will focus primarily on music distribution moving forward." Songtradr also points artists to Bandcamp, which is part of the Songtradr portfolio.

How you are paid

MassiveMusic for Rightsholders is a subscription. As of October 2026:

  • The distribution plan costs $49 a year. Old Songtradr Pro subscriptions moved over automatically. Older subscribers keep their old price, but lose it if they cancel.
  • You keep "100% of your streaming earnings". Releases reach streaming services in 5 to 7 days.
  • If you cancel, Songtradr says it "will remove all your active releases from streaming platforms, close your MassiveMusic for Rightsholders account, and process any final eligible payouts."

For how distribution differs from licensing, see Music distributor, library or stock site.

What to keep in your catalog

  • Which tracks were in Songtradr Marketplace licensing deals. Those deals ended on 30 September 2026, so mark the tracks as no longer licensed there.
  • Your own copies of any audio you uploaded but never released. It did not move to the new dashboard. See How to back up your music projects, masters and catalog.
  • Which releases depend on the MassiveMusic for Rightsholders subscription. Cancel it, and they come down from streaming services.
  • If you are invited: the date and the Master Services Agreement you signed.
