Listen to your tracks

Play any track right in the catalog. The sound comes from your own files, where they lie on your drive.

The player comes in the next update of tracklog. This page shows how it works in that update.

tracklog plays the files you linked. It doesn't copy your music. To link your files, see Link your files.

Play a track from the catalog

A track with files has a faint ▶ next to its title. Click it. The track plays, and the player comes up at the bottom of the window.

The row plays the track's longest version. While it plays, the row shows moving bars.

Click ▶ next to Gentle Echoes. The player comes up at the bottom. A click on the waveform jumps to that place.

The player shows the title, the time and the waveform. Click the waveform to jump to that place, or drag along it. Click the title to show the track in the catalog.

Loop plays the version again and again. It turns on by itself for a loop version. The speaker button turns the sound off and on.

Switch versions

The button with the version's name shows which version plays. Click it to see all versions of the track with their lengths. Click one, and it plays.

The list stays open, so you can compare versions one after another. Press Esc or click outside to close it.

Click the version button. Pick 60s, then 30s. The list stays open. Esc closes it.

tracklog remembers your place in each version. Come back to a version, and it plays from where you left it.

Listen in the track card

Open a track. Under Files, click a version or a stem to play it.

A thin line comes up under the version that plays. Drag along it to move through the track.

In the track card, click Main under Versions. It plays. Drag along the line under it to move through the track.
